Watch: Eagles' Jalen Carter shows off impressive vertical leap on blocked Bills FG

For the second consecutive week, Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter made a play that left many asking, “How?”

During a casual 34-yard field goal attempt by Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass, Carter leapt into the air in between the left guard and center, reached his hand up and got the slightest piece of Bass’ kick, which sent the ball wobbling wide left of the uprights.

It was the 16th time Carter attempted to block a field goal this year, per Pro Football Focus. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound defensive lineman had two blocked field goal and one blocked extra point in three seasons at the University of Georgia.

Carter’s athleticism isn’t a surprise. He went viral during last week’s 21-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs for trying to dive under the center and intercept a spike from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He was almost successful, too.

Entering Sunday’s game, Carter, the ninth overall pick in the 2023 draft, had logged 32 pressures, 23 hurries, five tackles for loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles. He is the only player on the Eagles with a blocked kick this season.
