Watch: Colts Kicker Rodrigo Blankenship shows off his ridiculous LEGO collection in new "My Passion" episode

LEGO's are one of the staple toys of America's youth and they remain a popular piece of pop culture. How many toys do they make movies and open theme parks around?

But just because you turn older, doesn't mean the passion behind the hobby must die. Colts kicker Rodrigo Blankenship is a case in point. In the latest episode of Team Whistle's "My Passion", the Colts kicker known affectionately as "Hot Rod" gives a behind the scenes look at his robust collection.

The second year pro connected on 32 of 37 kicks last year and 43 of 45 extra points in a solid rookie season, but still was fighting for his job in training camp with former Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro. In the episode, Blankenship details how he put together a Ferrari LEGO set to get in a good headspace as he waited for the call to learn whether he made the team or not. Spoiler alert - he made it.

Blankenship believes there are parallels between football and LEGO building with attention to detail being the common through line. He sure seems to have that skill locked as his LEGO set is pristinely laid out in his Indianapolis home. He guesses he's put together 80-100 sets in his lifetime, which is more kicks than he made in the entire 2020 season.

Check out the full episode for a look at his second favorite hobby shoe collecting, a blooper worthy appearance from his cat Lucas, and the origins of his "Hot Rod" nickname:
