Watch: Angry run from WR Khalil Shakir puts Bills up for good over Steelers

With the Bills up by a touchdown late in the fourth quarter of Monday’s wild-card game against the Steelers, quarterback Josh Allen hit Khalil Shakir with a two-yard pass in the red zone. Shakir did the rest.

As a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Boise State Bronco finished the 2023 season as Buffalo’s fourth-leading receiver with 611 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Before his score in the wild-card game, his biggest play was an 81-yard touchdown grab against the Jets in Week 11.

Shakir had three career touchdowns entering Super Wild-Card weekend but none were any better than his score against the Steelers on Monday. After jumping out to a 21-7 lead at halftime, the Bills let the Steelers get within seven points with 6:37 left in the game. Shakir’s touchdown would be the last of the game, putting the Bills up for good, 31-17.

With the victory, the Bills will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of AFC playoffs at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo on Sunday.
