Watch: 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey ties NFL record with TD

Christian McCaffrey's climb toward football immortality continues.

Late in the first quarter of the battle between the San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals, McCaffrey found the end zone for the 17th straight game, tying Hall of Famer Lenny Moore for the longest streak of consecutive games with a touchdown in NFL history.

While his record-tying TD against the Bengals only went for two yards, McCaffrey has been much more than a goal-line threat over his historic stretch. Heading into Week 8, McCaffrey had rushed for 1,341 yards and 14 TDs with 65 catches for 551 yards and seven scores through the air 16 games into the streak.

McCaffrey hasn't been kept out of the end zone since Week 11 in 2022 against the New Orleans Saints.

In what's been a wild 2023 NFL season already, perhaps the only guarantee is a McCaffrey touchdown each week. He won't score next week because the 49ers have their bye. Looking ahead to their next opponent, the Niners take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, who were 23rd in the NFL in touchdowns against (10) entering Week 8.
