Vikings sign OT Jarrid Williams, cut Bobby Evans
USA TODAY Sports

The Vikings have signed offensive tackle Jarrid Williams and cut tackle/guard Bobby Evans, who they just signed last week. They also confirmed the signing of journeyman OT Christian DiLaura, who replaces Sam Schlueter on the 90-man roster.

Williams, 26, spent a remarkable seven years at the NCAA level, playing for Houston and then Miami from 2015-21. He started 38 games in his college career. As an undrafted free agent in 2022, Williams signed with the Eagles and spent most of the year on their practice squad, also ending up on injured reserve for a while. He ended the year spending a little over a week on the Lions' practice squad.

This offseason, Williams has had stints with the Eagles and Steelers. He now joins the Vikings and faces a major uphill battle to even make the practice squad — but as long as he's on the 90-man roster, there's always a chance to impress.

It's interesting to see Evans' contract terminated already. The former Rams third-round pick signed with Minnesota just a week ago and saw some second-team right guard snaps during the first week of training camp. A standout tackle at Oklahoma, Evans appeared in 35 games with 12 starts for the Rams over the past four seasons but struggled to perform at an adequate level.

The roster is now full once again.
