Tom Brady indicates he hasn't been 100% healthy this season

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady may have either intentionally or unintentionally revealed he hasn't been fully healthy throughout the fall months.

“Look, we all have physical, mental, emotional aspects to us, and all those things are challenged," Brady explained during Monday's edition of his "Let's Go!" SiriusXM show and podcast, as shared by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times (h/t Yahoo Sports). "Some years you are challenged a little more physically. You’ve got to overcome some adversities physically. You know, I took a big shot in my shoulder this year. Did it derail me? No, not at all, and I’ve dealt with it in the past."

Brady appeared to hurt his throwing shoulder during the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 2 and missed some practice time because of that setback. It was suggested later that month that stats indicated Father Time was finally catching up with the seemingly-ageless signal-caller.

In this past Sunday's 34-23 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that featured Tampa Bay blowing a 17-point lead, Brady completed 30-of-44 pass attempts for 312 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. The 45-year-old was also credited with two lost fumbles.

"You’re not entitled to winning," Brady added during Monday's program. "No one is guaranteed winning. No one is guaranteed tomorrow. The sun came up today, and you’re going to try and make this the best day you can."

Per ESPN, Brady heads into Week 16 third in the NFL with 3,897 passing yards and 13th with 20 touchdowns through the air this season. He is also tied for 30th among qualified quarterbacks with an average of 6.3 yards per pass attempt and 22nd with a 50.5 total QBR.

Nothing about Brady's ailing shoulder accounts for the fact that the Buccaneers remain responsible for the league's worst rushing attack, which is averaging 74.3 yards per game. As pointed out by the JoeBucsFan website, Herm Edwards recently mentioned during an ESPN Radio appearance that Tampa Bay hasn't done enough to help the seven-time Super Bowl champion throughout the campaign.

Nevertheless, the 6-8 Buccaneers are a first-place team on track to host a playoff game heading into Sunday's matchup at the 4-10 Arizona Cardinals.
