Titans CB Kristian Fulton Looks to Find Consistency Through Offseason Changes
USA TODAY Sports

NASHVILLE — It has been an up-and-down start to Kristian Fulton's NFL career with the Tennessee Titans. Fulton has shown flashes of brilliant play, but has also missed 20 of a possible 50 games and had dips in his play as well.

Fulton was called out by Vrabel at the season-ending press conference in 2022 as a "repeat offender" for soft-tissue injuries. Something that should not be taken as a good thing. Vrabel also said Fulton could get lackadaisical at times at a press conference earlier in training camp.

Fulton heads into the final year of his rookie contract in 2023 and will be looking to correct some of the issues he's had so far in order to get the best contract he can next March. To do that, Fulton had to make some changes off the field in hopes it would bring more consistency on the field. He talked about how important that consistency is.

"It's very important," Fulton said. "They(Coaches) can drill it in my head as much as they want, but I got to be the one to want to be consistent. I got to do things off the field consistently. That's on me to consistently be playing. Obviously, on Sundays on the surface level, but I got to do everything from eating right, taking care of my body on the off days, doing what I can after practice, stuff like that. That's going to push me to be consistent, day by day."

Fulton talked about one of those big changes in more detail when he dove into his eating habits and the chef he hired this offseason.

"Just not eating as much meat as I did in the past," Fulton explained. "Eating certain things. I got a chef this past offseason and she's been in contact with our(Titans) nutritionist. Put together a plan to keep me ready to go week to week. Definitely watching what I eat. Like I said, just being consistent, eating my three meals a day, not eating a lot of junk food."

Fulton was asked what food was toughest to give up or slow down on. His response.

"Fried Food."

Understandable, Kristian. Completely understandable.

Fulton also said he is eating less snacks now as well. The changes to his diet and the increased consistency off the field has clearly boosted Fulton to the best training camp of his career. Fulton thinks that will help him show how great of a player he is. Fulton certainly believes in himself.

"I'm coming into every season with something to prove," declared Fulton, "but definitely this year. Not really worried about contract talks, but just as a corner I feel like I am one of those top guys in the league and I got to go out there and show it week to week, I know that. I feel like my talent is there and I can go with the best of them. Whenever I go up against one of those top receivers in the league I've pretty much held my own since I've been in the league. It's just about doing it consistently."
