This Stat Shows How Good Packers’ Rasul Douglas Has Been In 2023
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are 1-1 entering their Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. They could very easily be 2-0 had they not had so many miscues in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons, but that is life with a young team; there will be some bumps in the road.

While the young guys are still finding their way in many regards, the Packers veterans have lived up to the billing thus far. The guys that Green Bay needs to lead the way on both sides of the ball have been playing very well in the early going.

One of those players Green Bay relies on defensively is cornerback Rasul Douglas. The Packers took a major risk when they kept only four cornerbacks on their initial 53-man roster as Eric Stokes remained on the PUP List.

Douglas plays an important role as the perimeter corner opposite Jaire Alexander. Those two have been one of the best tandems in the NFL, as teams don’t want to challenge either one of them. It is easy to see why, as opponents have found very little success when attacking Douglas.

Just how good has Douglas been? According to PFF, he has allowed a passer rating of only 41.9 through two games. That is sixth best amongst cornerbacks in the NFL.

Douglas currently has a PFF overall grade of 75.3, which is 17th amongst qualified cornerbacks thus far this season. His coverage grade of 79.4 is tied for eighth in the NFL with Darious Williams of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He has been targeted 11 times, giving up seven receptions for only 65 yards. He has recorded one interception and two pass breakups. His support in the run game should not go unnoticed as well. Douglas has 11 total tackles and four stops, which are tackles considered a failure for the offense.
