Malik Willis gave Tennessee Titans fans plenty to be excited about Saturday night, but the third-round rookie said he can play a lot better than he did in the team's 26-23 preseason win.
Willis finished the night with 15 completions on 23 attempts with one touchdown pass and one interception. He also added 79 rushing yards, 50 of which came on a huge run that set up a touchdown. After the game, Willis said he was just OK against the Arizona Cardinals.
"I think it was probably like a B-minus," Willis told reporters in a postgame presser. "It was better than the first couple preseason games just as far as me sitting in the pocket and trying to take what the defense gives me.
"I'm just trying to take it week by week. It's preseason so you can't put too much value into that. Just gotta take these opportunities as they come and just continue to try to progress from each practice to each opportunity to get to go out there on the field."
In addition to his 50-yard run Saturday, Willis also wowed with a sidearm throw around a defender that turned into a 14-yard touchdown.
