Steelers signing Myles Jack to two-year, $16M deal

After the Jaguars went on a free agent spending spree to start the week, they had to cut veteran linebacker Myles Jack to save some money. Now, it looks like he's already found a new home.

Jack has reached an agreement on a deal with the Steelers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Per Schefter, the deal is for two years and $16 million.

The Steelers now boast one of the league's top young linebacker duos in Jack, 26, and Devin Bush, 23. Add in reigning AP Defensive Player of the Year TJ Watt, and Pittsburgh's defense can easily be considered one of the most menacing in the NFL.

Jack was the Jaguars' leading tackler last season with 108, and had logged at least 107 tackles in three out of the last four seasons. He became expendable in Jacksonville when the team signed Foye Oluokun, the entire NFL's leading tackler in 2021, away from Atlanta.

This will be Jack's first time playing outside of Jacksonville. The Jaguars selected him 36th overall in the 2016 Draft out of UCLA after he slid to the second round. He's logged 513 tackles over six seasons to go with 6.5 sacks and three career interceptions.
