Steelers guard Trai Turner ejected from Raiders game for spitting on opponent

Pittsburgh Steelers guard Trai Turner was ejected from Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders for spitting on an opponent in the fourth quarter.

Video replay shows Turner spitting on Raiders safety Tanner Muse.

Turner's actions came during a scuffle following a Ben Roethlisberger touchdown pass to Najee Harris. The Steelers' touchdown made the score 16-14 with 11:15 remaining in the game.

Turner, a five-time Pro Bowler, is in his first season with the Steelers after spending the 2020 campaign with the Los Angeles Chargers. He has also played for the Carolina Panthers, who selected him in the third round of the 2014 draft.

Turner is an eight-year veteran. You'd think he would know better than to spit on an opponent, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to surge in the United States and across the globe.

The 28-year-old will likely be fined for spitting on Muse. Last season, Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters was fined $12,500 for spitting in the direction of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
