"Mike Tomlin… that dude was like my pops, to be honest. Ever since I met Mike Tomlin, I always knew, I'll have success. I feel like when I went to the Steelers, Mike Tomlin, once I saw him and talked with him, I knew I was going to the Steelers. Mike Tomlin was that father figure for me. Outside of coach. Obviously as a coach and the minutia as a coach, he was always challenging me at the utmost to make sure I was better, but he was that guy who was always there for me mentally.”

Brown's departure from Pittsburgh left a sour taste, marked by public criticisms of the organization and some of his teammates. However, it seems that his sentiments have evolved since then, particularly regarding his former quarterback and Steelers icon, Ben Roethlisberger. “He was a guy who always tried to talk to me about things, even when I didn’t understand them. ‘Like AB, I think you need to think about the way you celebrate these touchdowns because you are going to another level of your career.’ I didn’t understand what he meant sometimes, but that guy Mike Tomlin always had my back. Always believed in me so I am always indebted to Mike Tomlin, like he was one of those guys… and that meant a lot to me.”
