Seahawks QB Geno Smith dedicates latest win to former Giants bosses

Geno Smith insisted that the Seattle Seahawks’ 27-13 win over the New York Giants on Sunday at Lumen Field wasn’t about revenge in his book.

However, snapping the four-game win streak of his former team had to be a little vindicating for the 32-year-old signal caller, who was thrust into a quarterback controversy in 2017 with the Giants when then-head coach Ben McAdoo infamously ended Eli Manning’s streak of 210 consecutive starts — the second-longest streak in NFL history — to play Smith for only one game, benching him the following week.

"I spent one year with the Giants; that year to me was like a blur and my life has moved on from them,” Smith told reporters after the game. “I don't have any remorse towards anyone there. In fact, to me, this game was for Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese. They believed in me.

“So as far as any other thing, I don't really care for it. I'm happy to be here in Seattle. It's like a family here. It feels like home. And so, I'm just enjoying my time here and continuing to work hard with these guys and just trying to be the best we can be."

Smith appeared in two games for the Giants during the 2017 season, passing for 212 yards and a touchdown but losing his lone start to the then-Oakland Raiders 24-17 in Week 13.

On Sunday, Smith completed 23-of-34 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns. It was the sixth multi-touchdown games in eight outings this season for the West Virginia alum.
