The New Orleans Saints have reportedly locked up an essential piece of their defense for another year.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Saints and All-Pro linebacker Demario Davis have agreed to a contract extension through 2024.

Davis is scheduled to make a $1.12 million base salary in 2022. With the updated contract, Davis' 2023 base salary will be $8.25 million, increasing to $10 million in 2024.
Davis led the Saints in tackles (105) last season, finishing with 100 or more tackles for the seventh time in his career.
The 33-year-old played in 16 games last season, recording 105 tackles, 3.0 sacks and seven pass defenses.
A 10-year veteran, Davis has played for the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and Saints. He's been with the Saints since 2018, starting 64 of 65 regular-season games.
