It was announced on Wednesday that the New Orleans Saints are releasing veteran running back, Malcolm Brown. Brown had signed a one-year with the Saints back in July, but the stop in New Orleans will be a short one. The backfield depth chart will now consist of Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram, Dwayne Washington, Tony Jones Jr. and Devine Ozigbo.

The Saints had brought in Brown shortly before the start of training camp to have a chance to compete for RB3. He was going to bring his veteran appearance to the backfield, with his seven years played in the NFL.

His best season came in 2020 with the Los Angeles Rams, where he rushed for 419 yards and five touchdowns. He spent the 2021 season with the Miami Dolphins, where he had 125 rushing yards and one touchdown. The Miami backfield was loaded.  Brown did not see that much of action on the field during the regular season.

In his career, he has rushed for 1,313 yards and 12 touchdowns. After the 2021 season, Brown became a free agent and was able to land a one-year deal with New Orleans. He did suffer a season-ending quad injury in the fall of 2021 with the Dolphins, but seems to be recovering from the injury.
