Report: Jadeveon Clowney plans to sign before start of NFL season

Amid stories that elite pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney has the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints atop his wish list of potential future employers, the 27-year-old defensive end reportedly hasn't eliminated any organization from contention just yet.

On Tuesday afternoon, NFL insider Josina Anderson tweeted Clowney has told her he has "not narrowed down a final team" and that he is "still open" for negotiations:

Anderson added that she believes Clowney isn't willing to offer a club a discount at this stage of the process even though he intends to sign before the season begins:

In late May, ESPN's Adam Schefter told ESPN Cleveland that the Browns had offered more money to Clowney than any other team as of that time.

The Browns could, however, be on the verge of signing defensive end Myles Garrett to a massive contract extension

Clowney had 18 1/2 sacks, six fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and 42 quarterback hits in 31 regular-season games with the Houston Texans across the 2017-18 seasons.

After Houston traded Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks ahead of Week 1 of the 2019 season, he accumulated three sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception and 13 QB hits in 13 regular-season appearances.
