Reflecting on Eagles' Lane Johnson's only touchdown following award nomination

Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson is the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. He’s currently in second place in a charity challenge associated with the award worth up to $35K for his favorite charity.

If only there were a way to get him more attention:

That could do it. Johnson’s first and only touchdown catch came against the Giants in Week 16 of the 2021 season. In retrospect, it’s amazing how no one noticed the 6-foot-6, 325-pound former tight end running a pass route.

Something else worth noting is the uniform, more specifically the color combination chosen by the Eagles that day. According to the team’s social media account, Philadelphia hasn’t worn the black jersey/midnight green helmet combo since that game, but it will on Christmas Day.

Is the team trying to tell us something?  After all, the Eagles have struggled to score points and haven’t won a game in nearly a month. Considering Philadelphia receivers haven’t scored a touchdown since Week 13, Johnson might be worth a look in the end zone.
