Ravens unsurprisingly release former All-Pro WR

Odell Beckham Jr.'s stint with the Baltimore Ravens is over.

After just one season, the team announced the release of the 31-year-old former Pro Bowl wide receiver. This comes after the January restructuring of Beckham Jr.'s contract, which included $50 guaranteed if he were to still be on the roster Thursday, per ESPN's Dan Graziano.

Beckham Jr. signed a one-year, $18 million deal with the Ravens last April. He finished the season with 35 receptions for 565 yards on 64 targets and three touchdown catches in 14 games. He had four receptions for 34 yards and zero touchdowns in the team's two playoff games.

His release comes as no surprise, given the team's receiving situation.

Rookie Zay Flowers has emerged as Lamar Jackson's favorite target. The team signed Nelson Agholor to a one-season extension in February. Meanwhile, third-year wideout Rashod Bateman saw an increase in his role during the second half of the season.

With tight end Mark Andrews returning healthy and the emergence of TE Isaiah Likely, it was unlikely Beckham Jr. would see a similar role next season.

Now an unrestricted free agent, OBJ will be looking to sign with his fourth team in four seasons.

Although he's no longer the explosive receiver he was with the New York Giants from 2014-18, he proved he still has gas left in the tank, leading the team in yards per catch (16.1).

Beckham also finished tied for 27th among all wide receivers in the ability to get open, catch and gain yards after the catch, according to ESPN Analytics
