Ravens add dynamic runner in latest PFF mock draft

Pro Football Focus dropped its post-Super Bowl LVII mock draft with the offseason officially underway and it has Ravens select the top running back in the 2023 NFL Draft with their first-round pick.

PFF has Baltimore drafting Texas RB Bijan Robinson at No. 22, and adds that having Robinson and QB Lamar Jackson "in the same backfield is just too much dynamism to pass up."

Robinson had an incredible 2022 season, totaling 1,894 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was named a Unanimous All-American and won the Doak Walker Award for being the top running back in college football.

Selecting a running back in the first round has been a controversial topic, but the Ravens have had their fair share of injuries to the position over the last couple of years.

J.K. Dobbins has shown promise but played in just eight games in 2022. Backup Gus Edwards has struggled to stay healthy as well, appearing in just nine games.

Both are heading into the final year of their contracts. Justice Hill and Kenyan Drake are also set to become free agents, so Baltimore will have to add to the room one way or another.

Selecting a running back in the first round might not be a fan favorite move as the Ravens have a desperate need at receiver. However, the 2023 draft class isn't as strong at the position compared to recent years.

It will be an interesting offseason to watch in Baltimore as a lot of important decisions will need to be made starting with the future of QB Lamar Jackson.
