Pittsburgh Steelers Named Top Future Destination For Dak Prescott

Could Dak Prescott be playing quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025?

Prescott is currently preparing to take snaps for the Dallas Cowboys next season, but the two sides have reached a stalemate in terms of a contract extension.

The Cowboys seem willing to go into 2024 with Prescott playing out the final year of his deal, which means that Prescott would be able to test free agency next offseason.

Prescott is reportedly seeking a deal worth in the neighborhood of $60 million annually, which is evidently too rich for Dallas’ blood.

This could mean that Prescott could be entering his final season as a member of the Cowboys, and if that ends up being the case, Dallas Robinson of Pro Football Network thinks that the Steelers represent the top potential destination for Prescott next March.

Pittsburgh revamped its quarterback room this offseason, as it signed Russell Wilson and then swung a trade with the Chicago Bears for Justin Fields.

However, it remains to be seen how much Wilson has left in the tank, and Fields has been far too inconsistent thus far in his career to be labeled a sure thing as the Steelers’ signal-caller of the future.

If neither Wilson nor Fields work out next season, could Pittsburgh end up making a play for Prescott?

Robinson notes that the Steelers are slated to have expansive cap space in 2025, so they would certainly have enough money to absorb Prescott while also bringing in other pieces.

Dak Prescott finished second in MVP voting this past year after leading the NFL with 36 touchdown passes to go along with 4,516 yards and just nine interceptions.
