There have been plenty of legendary Los Angeles Chargers players, but maybe none have been more outspoken than former QB Philip Rivers.

Rivers played 16 seasons with the Chargers and was instrumental in keeping the team in AFC relevancy during that time. He experienced many coaches come and go, including hundreds of players.

Rivers might be better suited than anyone else to make a bold prediction for the Jim Harbaugh era, which he has done.

According to comments made by Rivers at a BBQ in Alabama, the former Chargers QB predicted the team to finish 10-7 in the 2024 season.

Going 10-7 is not a terrible record by any means, and that number might also signify that the Chargers would be headed into the postseason.

While some might view the cap room situation and looming free agency mess the Chargers have to deal with as a big reason they might not finish with a winning record, they do have Harbaugh.

Every team that Harbaugh has arrived to coach has immediately gotten better. Take the 2011 San Francisco 49ers, for instance.

Before Harbaugh arrived, the team had gone 6-10 in 2010, 8-8 in 2009, and 7-9 in 2008. Harbaugh immediately took the team to a 13-3 record the moment he took over.

That is not a measuring stick to say that Harbaugh will do the same for the Chargers, but his track record proves that he will find a way to make this team win again.

His mantra of toughness has worked everywhere he has gone, and that is something he plans to impart to the Chargers. Rivers might have looked at everything and considered this to be a viable prediction, which it is.

Time will tell what the Harbaugh era has to offer.
