Peyton Manning met with Denver Broncos CEO Joe Ellis and general manager John Elway on Thursday to talk about his plans for the future. However, it is reported by NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that no decision came from the meeting.

Manning has since returned to New Orleans to presumably resume his training.

Denver reportedly wants to know what Manning’s plans are before central figures to the situation leave for the NFL Scouting Combine late next week. Offensive coordinator Rick Dennison indicated, however, that “there’s certainly no rush.” While there may be no rush, Manning must be in top shape to pass a physical that will be scheduled between February 23 and March 5.

In the meantime, Manning will resume training and conditioning with coach Mackie Shilstone, who specializes in career longevity. Overall, this latest report really does not shed much light as to what Manning’s plans are for the future. The fact that he is returning to his training is about the only positive we have that would point towards him wanting to play for his 18th season. With the clock ticking in many areas, solid news should break soon.
