Monday morning, the Carolina Panthers made the decision to fire general manager Scott Fitterer after three seasons with the organization.

Owner David Tepper has already begun his search for Fitterer's replacement, requesting permission to interview Tampa Bay Buccaneers Assistant GM Mike Greenburg, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Greeneburg is a long time Bucs exec, who got his start as a player personnel assistant in 2010. He then spent two seasons as the coordinator of football administration, eight seasons as director of football administration, and two seasons as the vice president of football administration before earning his most recent promotion of assistant GM.

He played a pivotal role in the negotiations and signings of QB Tom Brady, CB Carlton Davis, WR Chris Godwin, C Ryan Jensen, CB Jamel Dean, and LB Lavonte David.
