Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are entering a new era of football in the 2023 NFL season. Gone are the days of Aaron Rodgers making the team a legitimate Super Bowl contender at the start of each year. Now, there is no one who truly knows what the team will look like with a young quarterback leading the way.

While there are a lot of reasons to be skeptical about the Packers, fans also have cause to be optimistic. Love has had a few years to learn behind Rodgers and has shown positive signs of development in each and every season. The early reports on the young signal-caller have been positive this year.

Granted, it is still very early in the process, but Love appears to be ready to be an NFL starting quarterback.

One of Love’s teammates, star pass-rusher Rashan Gary, took some time to speak out about his new quarterback. He addressed the fans’ nerves about Love with a quick and powerful quote.

“Don’t be nervous. He has the respect of his teammates, and he has everybody ready to go to war for him.”

Clearly, Love has made a good first impression on his teammates. Leadership is something that every good quarterback must have, which seems to be a quality that Love possesses. There is no guarantee that his play will match the level of intensity that his teammates have for him, but this is a positive sign.

Through the first 10 short appearances that Love has made in the NFL, he has completed 60.2% of his pass attempts for 606 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. He has also picked up 26 yards on the ground.

The 24-year-old quarterback has some massive shoes to fill in his first season as the starter. However, the Packers have been adamant about tempering expectations for Love. He has some good weapons around him and a good coaching staff to lean on, which will help greatly in his development.

Expect to see Love come out strong to start his career as an NFL starter. He isn’t going to put up Rodgers numbers, but no one should be expecting that. It certainly sounds like the Packers firmly believe in Love’s ability moving forward.
