NFL Week 15: These weekend looks are lookin' good

Good thing we hopped on the Raiders' WR train, cashing our Jakobi Meyers TD ticket, one of Las Vegas' nine touchdowns on the night. We'll look to roll over that NFL momentum into the weekend preview. There are three games on Saturday and 11 on Sunday. That'll do the trick for a packed few days.

Two props a day keep the weekend doctor away ...

Saturday NFL looks

Minnesota Vikings moneyline (+145 DK)

Let's get weird to start. Jake Browning and the Bengals have rattled off two straight impressive wins over playoff hopefuls, and now get a chance to keep it rolling against the Minnesota Vikings. However, consider the unknown that comes with a backup QB, and how often their first few appearances (OK, ignore Easton Stick last night) sometimes lends itself to some wins for the team leaning on their services.

It's Nick Mullens under center for Minnesota, but a bet here is more of a fade of a Cincinnati defense that continues to be one of the most vulnerable to explosive plays throughout the field. We'll take a chance on Minnesota finding more offensive success than they did last week, and their defense stepping up once again to shut down Browning.

David Montgomery over 66.5 rushing yards (-115 DK)

David Montgomery and the Detroit Lions could really use a get-right game, and this Denver Broncos run defense could be just that. Denver has played much better of late, but they're still allowing the most rushing yards per game to RBs and the most yards per rush attempt.

Montgomery and Gibbs have been splitting work, but the role is still there for Montgomery to deliver on his over. He has a juiced rush attempts line at 15.5. When he sees 15+ carries, he's over this line in five of six games this season, averaging 83 yards/game.

Sunday NFL looks

Bijan Robinson TD (+125 FanDuel)

This one is simple: No lead running back should ever be this price against the Carolina Panthers. Carolina is allowing the most touchdowns per game to RBs by a sizable margin, and Robinson is out-snapping and out-carrying Tyler Allgeier by quite a bit over the last month and a half. Robinson has scored four times over the past four weeks and scored Week 1 against the Panthers.

San Francisco -12

San Francisco doesn't have any room in the NFC to consider the Arizona Cardinals a free win, and they should be able to keep things rolling here. The 49ers have won five straight games, with each won by 12+ points, and they've destroyed Arizona in three straight by 21+ each time. Take the points and enjoy the blowout.

In the news ...

Brandon Staley and GM Tom Telesco fired following 'TNF' blowout —  As we all expected, the Chargers have cleaned house following that embarrassing “TNF” showing against the Raiders. Staley’s tenure will likely be remembered by a slew of injuries and last season’s playoff  collapse. Back to the drawing board for Los Angeles in 2024. As for Las Vegas, the win moved them to 6-8 and still very much in the mix in a crowded AFC playoff race. The Raiders wrap the season against the Chiefs, Colts and Broncos and are +2000 to make the playoffs.

Los Angeles Dodgers on verge of acquiring pitcher Tyler Glasnow — Thanks to the flexibility that Shohei Ohtani's contract provided, the Dodgers are set to keep adding pieces. Los Angeles has come to an agreement with the Tampa Bay Rays on a trade for starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow, on the condition that the two sides can reach a deal on an extension at some point today. When healthy, Glasnow has been one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball. The Dodgers have moved to +425 to win the World Series in 2024.

St. Louis Blues win first game since firing coach — ICYMI, the St. Louis Blues relieved head coach Craig Berube of his duties on Tuesday after 4+ seasons, bringing in Drew Bannister to replace him. Bannister had himself a solid debut, as the Blues beat the Ottawa Senators 4-2. We've seen coach firings spark teams like the Edmonton Oilers, and with the eighth-most points in the Western Conference, it's not as if the Blues are done. If you believe in the spark, consider betting St. Louis to make the playoffs at +340.
