A whole lot has happened for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith and second-year cornerback Tariq Woolen dating back to last season.

Hardly starting last year as big or relevant names among NFL fans, the pair have become just two of many leaders on a Seahawks team that has surprisingly entered the NFC contenders conversation just one year after it seemed like a rebuild was in place.

And after helping lead the Seahawks to the postseason last season while being two of the best players at their respective positions, their NFL peers are holding them in high regard.

The NFL is slowly revealing its player-voted list of the top 100 players entering this season. Smith and Woolen landed right next to one another at No. 77 and No. 76, respectively.

After a Pro Bowl season that essentially revitalized his career, Smith was ranked higher than quarterbacks like Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 96), Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears (No. 86) and Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins (No. 82). This is significant considering that all three guys were first-round picks while Smith seemed like he was destined for more career disappointment prior to last season's breakout.

Strangely enough, Woolen is the only cornerback that's been revealed so far in the top 100 rankings. That will obviously change soon, but this speaks volumes to how highly the second-year man and former fifth-round pick is viewed among the rest of the league.
