New England Patriots: Veteran Cornerback Takes Shot At Coaching Staff About Personnel Decisions
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

A veteran cornerback for the New England Patriots sent a loud statement about his paying time following some stats that were released following the team’s loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.

The Patriots are struggling on both sides of the football in the early season. The 1-4 Patriots have lost their previous two games by a combined score of 72-3. Patriots, head coach Bill Belichick said after losing to the Saints that the team would try and make a new start for Week 6.

New England Patriots cornerback wants more playing time

Jalen Mills hopes that will include more playing time for him. Per a screenshot posted by Dov Kleiman, Mills Tweeted a message that he was upset at his usage in the loss. He played just ten snaps.

“10 snaps

damn,” Mills wrote.

Mills, a former starter for the Patriots the previous two seasons, has no starts this season. He’s appeared in all five games but has 83 total plays so far this season. Mills has made nine total tackles.

Pro Football Focus has given Mills a 75.8 overall grade for his play this season. As bad as the defense has been, the staff could consider giving Mills more snaps.

But his comments on social media could kill that opportunity.
