New Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen pops up at Caleb Williams’ USC Pro Day

Chicago sent a fourth-round pick to the Chargers to acquire Keenan Allen for the 2024 season. Allen is coming off one of the biggest years of his career in 2023, totaling 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns across 13 games. That earned him his sixth career Pro Bowl appearance, and he’ll now head to Chicago to form an impressive one-two punch with D.J. Moore.

Allen has six 1,000-yard seasons in his career thus far. His 10,350 career receiving yards is also more than double Chicago’s all-time leader. He could have joined the Houston Texans or the New York Jets, however, the Bears made the best offer. Plus, he can look forward to catching passes from the first pick in the draft – whoever he may be.

Caleb Williams excited at prospect of joining the Bears

At the Combine in Indianapolis, Williams shared his thoughts on potentially joining the Bears given their current situation if he is, in fact, selected by Chicago. This was before the team added Allen to the offense last week.

“The Bears were 7-10 last year, and that’s pretty good for a team that has the first pick,” Williams said. “And they’ve got a good defense, they got good players on offense, and it’s pretty exciting if you can go into a situation like that.”

The Bears secured the first overall pick in the upcoming draft thanks to trading out of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft with the Carolina Panthers. Acquiring wide receiver D.J. Moore along with Carolina’s 2023 first and second-round picks, a 2024 first-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick.

Along with the Panthers’ No. 1 overall pick, the Bears also possess their own No. 9 overall pick along with four other selections throughout the 2024 NFL Draft. It gives them a variety of different moves to make this offseason and in the draft.
