Ndamukong Suh: 'I have a lot of great talent left in my engine'

Five-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is confident his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is over, but the free agent isn't ready for his NFL career to end.

"I'm excited, really, just to understand where I could potentially be," Suh said Monday during an ESPN appearance. "It looks like the Bucs are out of the picture, but I'm excited to look at all the other options.

"I have a lot of great talent left in my engine and people felt that before."

Suh, 35, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and earned four Pro Bowl nods with the Detroit Lions before joining the Miami Dolphins on a then-record-breaking, $114M deal. He earned one trip to the Pro Bowl in Miami before he was released by the team after three seasons. Suh then spent one season with the Los Angeles Rams and the last three with the Buccaneers on a trio of one-year deals.

The door to a fourth contract with Tampa Bay likely shut for Suh when the team decided to add former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Akiem Hicks on a one-year deal worth up to $10M.

In 12 NFL seasons, Suh has 70.5 career sacks and he's tied for 17th in NFL history with 130 tackles for loss.
