Myles Jack reportedly expected to sign with Pittsburgh Steelers this week
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers will reportedly welcome a familiar face back to the team this week ahead of a Week 12 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Pittsburgh, coming off of a 13-10 loss, is expected to re-sign former linebacker Myles Jack following his brief retirement.

“I’m told there’s currently an expectation in Pittsburgh that free agent LB Myles Jack will be in the building this week rejoining the #Steelers, pending an unforeseen snag, per source,” Josina Anderson shared on Sunday night.

Jack, who signed with Pittsburgh in the 2022 offseason on a two-year deal worth $16 million, had a cap hit of $11.25 million for the 2023 season. The two parties split ways, opening the linebacker up to sign a one-year, $1.6 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite signing that deal, Jack retired two weeks later and hasn’t played yet this season.

Jack to begin second stint with Steelers

Jack, a UCLA alum, was a second-round draft pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played six seasons for the Jaguars before moving to Pittsburgh and leading the Steelers with a 104-tackle season in 2022. He posted his career-high of 118 tackles in 2020 with the Jags.

For his career stats, Jack has 617 tackles in 104 games played with three interceptions, 29 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.

Browns bring Joe Flacco in

It’s officially time for another veteran – Joe Flacco – to dust his cleats off. The former Super Bowl MVP has been waiting on the sidelines, waiting for another opportunity to play in the National Football League. Due to Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury, the Cleveland Browns are currently in need of a quarterback. On Sunday, the Browns officially signed Flacco to their practice squad, according to Adam Schefter and Field Yates of ESPN.

He worked out with the franchise on Friday, and apparently, they liked what they saw. Flacco is now on the Browns, a division rival of his old team, the Baltimore Ravens. He’s expected to eventually get promoted to the franchise’s active roster, per Schefter and Yates.

Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski announced that rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson was going to start Sunday against the Steelers in a key AFC North division game. The Browns ended up winning that one, thanks to a game-winning field goal by Dustin Hopkins in the final seconds.

On3’s Wade Peery contributed to this report.
