Multiple fights break out at Jets training camp on Saturday

The New York Jets did not waste much time in giving the Hard Knocks crew some enticing training-camp content.

The Jets had multiple fights at practice on Saturday afternoon, the first day that fans were able to attend sessions open to the public.

Jets beat writer Connor Hughes pointed out that there were at least three fights during Saturday's practice, with one of them involving Jermaine Johnson, Michael Clemons and several offensive lineman.

Fans caught much of the action on video.

That is going to be nothing compared to the footage the Hard Knocks camera's undoubtedly captured!

Fights at training camp are not out of the ordinary, even though coaches don't really like seeing them. It is a highly competitive environment and even though everybody is wearing the same color uniform, nearly half of the players in camp are not going to make the Week 1 roster. Starting jobs and roster spots are literally on the line and people will do anything they have to do to secure them.

What stands out about the Jets' skirmishes on Saturday is the simple fact it is the Jets and anything that happens with them this season is going to be front page news given the hype around the franchise and the presence of new starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It is also noteworthy that the Jets are only a couple of days into camp and have not even started practicing in pads yet. If things are already that testy, imagine what it will be like when the real tackling starts.
