Missing father of Bengals' Mackensie Alexander found alive

Jean Odney Alexandre, the father of Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Mackensie Alexander (the last names are spelled differently), was found this morning after being reported as missing earlier in the week. He is said to be "in good health and will be turned over to family members."

Alexandre was picking palmetto berries in Okeechobee, Fla., on Monday with a friend of over a decade when he reportedly disappeared in the woods and was unable to be found. Since Alexandre did not have a cell phone, authorities were unable to trace his location, which sparked a search for the missing man. Shortly after hearing about his father's disappearance, Mackensie left Bengals' camp to help search for him.

However, he also ended up getting into some trouble with the law, as Mackensie was arrested for one count of battery after he and another man confronted the friend who picking berries with Alexandre. The incident turned violent as Mackensie tried to get more information about his father, and when the friend refused to get into the car with them, they eventually ended up punching him in the face, causing him minor injuries.

Mackensie was released after posting the $2,000 bail that was set for the incident. The Bengals acknowledged the arrest in a statement but chose not to comment on the incident.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Alexandre was not actually found by anyone, as the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said he walked up to the ranger station at the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park.
