Marquette King bewildered that he still has not been signed
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Week 1 of the NFL season is just about in the books, and former All-Pro punter Marquette King cannot fathom the fact that he is still without a job.

King took to Twitter on Sunday to express confusion about his situation.

“Feels so weird to still not be playin week 1,” he wrote in the tweet. “I can understand if I was average and an a–hole but I always been a team player. #StillWaiting #KickSquad”

The 30-year-old King, who rose to prominence for his on-field dancing displays after punts, appeared in four games last season for the Denver Broncos but took some shots at the team on his way out.

King was an Oakland Raider the six seasons prior, leading the NFL in punting yards in 2014. Unfortunately though, his time there did not end well either, so that history may be the primary factor behind King’s unemployment rather than his actual skill.
