The Detroit Lions made a handful of practice squad moves on Tuesday and welcomed in a new running back after Jermar Jefferson suffered an injury. Here's what they did.
Lions fans, I give you your new Zach Zenner. Funk is a hard runner and he big broad shoulders and he doesn't mind lowering them. Much like Zenner, Funk struggles with field vision and making guys miss. He's a classic run it straight through the hole type of guy. Funk has spent time with the Rams, Saints, Colts, Dolphins and Ravens. This run right here is classic Zach Zenner type stuff.

Funk was a seventh-round pick out Maryland in 2021. He was third team All Big Ten at Maryland.
Fairnok has been in and out for the Lions all year long. The veteran offensive lineman is there in case the Lions want to add an extra guy with Jonah Jackson expected to miss this game.
It is not known at this time what Jefferson's injury is. Jefferson has been with the Lions all season after they brought him back after making the hard decison to cut him at final cut down in August. I would imagine he'll right back for the Lions when camp starts up if his injury will allow it.
Johnson has also been on and off with the Lions this year. He's a guy I think a lot of people were hoping to see capitalize on some good film he put out with the Bengals during the preseason. He's a name to keep an eye on when the Lions do futures deals with players after the season.
