The Las Vegas Raiders could have one of their starters sporting a whole new look in 2024 while still wearing the silver and black.
It's not uncommon for a player to come into the league and not get the number they want. Most of the time, there is a veteran on the team who already has that number, or the position they play doesn't allow a certain number; that was before the recent rule change.
It's also not uncommon for a player to want to change their number, and we saw a case of that on the Raiders just last season. Former Raiders running back and now Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was No. 8 in college at Alabama. When he got to the NFL, running backs weren't able to wear single digits.
So, he chose No. 28. Two years ago, the rule changed, and he could have changed his number, but the NFL was going to make him buy out all of the No. 28 jerseys that weren't purchased yet. This last year, he changed his number to No. 8, and now we could see another similar situation with the Raiders.
Zamir White, the likely starting running back for the 2024 season, wants to change his number. However, it's just about if it will happen at this point. He is currently No. 35, as when he came in No. 3 was taken and last year DeAndre Carter had it. White wore No. 3 in college at Georgia and tweeted out recently that he wants to go back.
Mannn I want that 3 so BAD https://t.co/8IUsrrddM0

Carter is a free agent, and there currently isn't anyone with the number. The one issue that could be holding him up is having to pay for all of the jerseys. Either way, there is a chance we'll see him sporting a new look in 2024, and the No. 3 would look way better.
