Josh McDaniels on WR Kristian Wilkerson
USA TODAY Sports

The Raiders are fortunate to have a talented and hard-working expansive receiver room. The Raiders 53-man roster currently has a total of six wide receivers. One of those wide receivers worked his tail off this year's Raiders training camp and preseason, and that wide receiver is Kristian Wilkerson.

Kristian Wilkerson led the league this preseason with a total of 17 receptions. He also finished the preseason with 188 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

Head coach Josh McDaniels had the chance to speak to the media on the Raiders 53-man roster overall and even spoke on Kristian Wilkerson on how his hard work and determination paid off by making the Raiders 53-man roster.

"Yeah, K-Wilks [Kristian Wilkerson] worked really hard since I've known him. He had an injury last year, it was kind of an unfortunate situation, and in training camp last year, where he kind of didn't really have an opportunity to have a season last year. So, I think he's worked really hard to put himself in position to compete this year in camp, and I thought he did some good things in the summer. I thought he did some good things in the games, competed hard, and not only on offense, but in the kicking game as well. So, that room was very competitive. It was probably one of the more competitive rooms we've had in the two years we've been here - tough decisions, and just felt like he had done enough to really earn an opportunity."

Wilkerson has played a career total of four games in the NFL as a wide receiver. He gets to reunite with head coach Josh McDaniels after spending the 2021 season with the New England Patriots.

With all the talent in the Raiders' expansive receiver room, all eyes are on the 26-year-old Kristain Wilkerson, as he could possibly be a vital wide receiver in the Raiders expansive receiver room.

The Silver and Black open the regular season at the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 4:25 p.m. EDT/1:25 p.m. PDT.
