Maybe time is a flat circle. How else could one explain that after a 12-year gap, Josh McDaniels is the same head coach as he was when he went 11-17 in Denver? McDaniels hasn't evolved, and it's leading to the devolution of the Las Vegas Raiders.
The team blew its third 17-point lead this season -- this time against the Jacksonville Jaguars -- and it happened a week after getting shut out against a below-average New Orleans Saints defense.
Las Vegas dropped to 2-6 on the season, and McDaniels is now 13-23 as an NFL head coach. He is 5-15 in his past 20 games.
Social media has not been kind to the embattled head coach in recent weeks.
Adams has been inconsistent, but even today, when he was great and had 146 yards and 2 TD, the Raiders don't have enough around him to win games. Adams isn't the problem, but the new regime was naive about how close they were to competing with the best teams in the AFC. https://t.co/l7WYRNTpzC

The #Raiders should seriously consider leaving Josh McDaniels on the tarmac. They led this game 17-0?!?!?!

Ok hear me out here…

Maybe Josh McDaniels is not a great head coach.
Josh McDaniels has to be on the hot seat.

Basically a must-win game if you want to make a push for the playoffs. We trade for the best WR in the NFL and now our team is playing like we should be dumping off our star players before the deadline.
Completely unacceptable.
Don’t even let Josh McDaniels on the plane home. Cardinals. Chiefs. Saints. Jags. And how they lost these games. Embarrassing. Pathetic, Raiders. Again.

It was only a matter of time before McDaniels got a second chance to prove himself as an NFL head coach. He is quickly squandering that opportunity on an expensive roster that was built to win now. The argument that the team doesn't have the talent to win goes out the window when considering they've now lost three games in which they've had three-score leads.
Their in-game struggles serve as a microcosm of the season as a whole. No matter how much money the front office spends, no matter how many points the Raiders go up by, it isn't leading to positive outcomes.
How much longer until the Raiders' front office has seen enough?
