Jaguars vs. Colts Injury Report: Walker Little, Zay Jones Don't Practice on Thursday
USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars didn't have a pair of key offensive starters on hand for Thursday's practice.

Offensive lineman Walker Little (knee) and wide receiver Zay Jones (knee) didn't practice on Thursday, marking their second consecutive missed practice of the week.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said on Wednesday that each player would be day-to-day after they had clear MRIs. Little has started the first five games this season, with four coming at left tackle and one coming at left guard.

With Little's status for Sunday's game vs. the Indianapolis Colts looming, the Jaguars appear poised to potentially start Tyler Shatley at left guard.

“Honestly, that’s just life in the NFL. To say you’re going to be healthy throughout the offensive line and throughout a season is rare. It doesn’t happen often," Jaguars offensive coordinator Press Taylor said on Thursday.

"Again, this is something we always try to prepare for with guys moving in and out. We knew Cam’s [Robinson] situation. We knew all along in Week 5 there’s a possible shuffle within the line room, so we try to prepare for that as early as we could, but there’s a lot of comfort in knowing who you’re playing next to and communicating with the guy next to you.

"For the long haul, you guys are on the same page and see it the same way, hear the same voice. I think that’s invaluable, but that’s just not real. That doesn’t happen often enough, so you’re always kind of prepared for that shuffle. Those guys do a great job, it just starts with the culture they create in their meeting room of just spending time being all on the same page of what they expect. So, when it is the next man up, everybody has confidence that guy can go do his job at a high level.”
