Frank Clark slams Dee Ford ahead of Super Bowl
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

We already have some pre-Super Bowl beef from Frank Clark on one of his opponents, and that opponent just so happens to be the guy Clark replaced in the Kansas City defense this season.

The Chiefs brought Clark in as a replacement for Dee Ford, who was traded to San Francisco last offseason. Ford infamously jumped offside on what would have been a game-clinching interception in the AFC Championship last year. Clark isn’t going to let him live it down, adding that he’s “not really too fond” of the lineman he replaced.

“I don’t know nothing about him,” Clark said Tuesday, via Adam Teicher of ESPN. “I couldn’t name a stat. I don’t know the school he went to.

“I just know he had lined up offside and anybody who lined up offside at a time like that I feel like that’s a dumb penalty at the end of the day. I’m sure he feels the same way. Personally I’ve lined up offside before but not in that type of (situation) … In any (situation) that’s just something that shouldn’t happen.”

Clark seems to be using the same approach he did before this year’s AFC Championship. He and Ford won’t be on the field together, but he’s clearly not shying away from trash talk that will add some spice to the big game.
