Former Packers LB Clay Matthews plans to retires after 10 years

“My playing days are over”. While he has not made it official yet, former Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews will retire after a 10 year career.

Matthews played for nine seasons in a Packers uniform and is the franchise’s all time leader in sacks with 84.5. He was the catalyst to the Packers number two ranked defense in 2010, the last time the Packers won the Super Bowl.

Career Highlight
Matthews’ most legendary career moment came in a regular season game in 2011 against the Dallas Cowboys when he returned an interception 62 yards for a touchdown.

He followed in his father’s footsteps, Clay Matthews Jr in playing linebacker in the NFL. It is safe to say they both had great careers and are future NFL Hall of Famers one day.
