Former Falcons veteran signs free agent deal with Steelers

The 30-year-old was drafted by the Bears and spent four years in Chicago, which were by far the best of his career, culminating in a Pro Bowl season in 2017. Following his time up north, the West Virginia product inked a three-year deal worth $21 million with the Raiders during the 2020 offseason.

It didn’t go how either side had hoped. He finished the stint in Las Vegas on the injured reserve before being released the following offseason, which is when he was signed by the Falcons.

The former fourth-round pick appeared in 12 games for the Falcons last season, contributing primarily on special teams and as a reserve behind Mykal Walker, Rashaan Evans, and Troy Andersen.

The Falcons obviously feel comfortable with Kaden Elliss, Tae Davis, Walker and Andersen because Evans still remains unsigned. Davis is a superior special teamer to Kwiatkoski, so it’s no surprise Atlanta didn’t target the current Steelers linebacker.
