Former Eagles great urges team to add one specific player
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

After starting the 2023 season with an impressive 10 wins out of their first 11 games, the Philadelphia Eagles faced a significant downfall towards the end of their schedule, culminating in a disappointing loss in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

The team’s descent was particularly stark considering their commanding 10-point lead in Super Bowl LVII, only to lose in the final moments to the Kansas City Chiefs.

DeSean Jackson, a former standout wide receiver for the Eagles, recently shared his insights on the “Up & Adams” show with Kay Adams, suggesting that the Eagles should target wide receiver Xavier Worthy in the upcoming draft.

Worthy gained attention for his remarkable 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine, clocking in at a record-breaking 4.21 seconds.

During his tenure with the University of Texas Longhorns in 2023, Worthy showcased his skills by tallying 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns. While he may not rank as the top wide receiver prospect, his potential is undeniable.

Despite concerns about his catching ability and relatively light weight of around 170 pounds, Worthy’s exceptional speed positions him as a promising prospect at the professional level.

Following the Eagles’ postseason exit at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, speculation has emerged regarding the potential trade of A.J. Brown, the team’s premier wide receiver and offensive asset.

Brown delivered another stellar performance in 2023, amassing 106 receptions, 1,456 yards, and seven touchdowns.

Whether Brown remains with the team or not, Worthy presents an intriguing option for the Eagles, possibly as a later-round pick worth considering. With nine picks at their disposal in this year’s draft, including the No. 22 selection in the first round, the Eagles have ample opportunity to bolster their roster.
