A former University of Alabama defensive back is remaining with an AFC South team in the National Football League.

Ronnie Harrison, a native of Tallahassee, Fla., is staying with the Indianapolis Colts on a one-year deal.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on Wednesday as Harrison spent 2023 with the Colts.

He totaled 20 tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack, two interceptions, two pass breakups, and a pick-six in seven games.

Harrison was taken in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent two years in Jacksonville (2018-19) and three seasons with the Cleveland Browns (2020-22) before landing in Indianapolis. Harrison, a former four-star recruit in Alabama’s 2015 signing class, was a two-time College Football Playoff National Champion in 2015 and 2017.

He was an impactful freshman with two interceptions and six pass breakups in 2015.

Harrison shared the team lead for total tackles (74) in 2017. He recorded 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and three interceptions. Harrison earned first-team All-SEC honors during his junior campaign.

Indianapolis holds on to a talented defensive piece for another season.
