Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

He has become one of the best defensive backs in the National Football League just three years into his pro career.

Patrick Surtain II, a former Alabama cornerback, is arguably the best player on the Denver Broncos’ roster.

A South Florida native, Surtain was selected at No. 9 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. In three seasons, he’s compiled 187 total tackles, seven interceptions, and 36 pass breakups in 50 career game. Surtain recorded 69 tackles, 12 breakups, and an interception for the Broncos this season in 17 games. The former five-star in the 2018 recruiting class for the Crimson Tide is a two-time NFL Pro Bowl selection (2022, 2023), and he’s is now a two-time first-team NFL All-Pro selection for 2022 and 2023.

He is one of the most lockdown corners in the league. Surtain was an Unanimous All-American, first-team All-SEC selection, and SEC Defensive Player of the Year winner in 2020, following a performance of 12 pass breakups and an interception.

He assisted the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020.
