Film Room: Roman Wilson Adds Speed to Steelers Offense
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Heading into the NFL Draft, it was painfully obvious that the Pittsburgh Steelers needed to add another playmaker to the mix on offense. The result was selecting Roman Wilson out of Michigan in the third round with the 84th overall selection. After a breakout senior season which concluded with a national championship ring, Wilson continued his rise through the pre-draft process with a very solid performance at the Senior Bowl before blazing a 4.39 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine.

SN analyst Derrick Bell breaks down his Wilson’s game: his skill set, the fit within Arthur Smith’s offensive scheme and areas which are still in need of development. He profiles as an early contributor and complimentary piece with plenty of room to grow. The encouraging part about his profile is the intangible factor that Mike Tomlin and the rest of the Steelers staff are assuredly excited about.
