Ezekiel Elliott’s comments about playing in snow go viral

New England Patriots running back Ezekiel Elliott perfectly summed up his team’s frigid experience Sunday in a 17-3 loss to the New York Jets.

Several inches of snow rained down over Gillette Stadium as the two teams faced off on flaky white grass.

Elliott was asked after the game about the surreal weather conditions on the field. The eight-year pro emphasized that it’s a much worse experience than many — his younger self included — may think.

Elliott tallied the most yards from scrimmage for the Patriots by far. But that’s more of an indictment of the glacial Patriots offense, which generated just 176 total yards combined rushing and receiving. Elliott had 54 rushing yards on 13 carries. He also caught five passes for 27 yards.

Jets running back Breece Hall outgained the entire Patriots offense on the ground with 178 yards on 37 carries.

The Jets’ win snapped a 15-game losing streak against the Patriots, who fell to 4-13 for the season.

The last time the Jets won their matchup versus the Patriots was all the way back in December 2015. Elliott was fresh off his junior season at Ohio State, during which he earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honors. Apparently, he may have also been daydreaming about playing in the snow.
