Eagles' Jason Kelce issues beer chugging challenge for charity

Think you can chug a beer faster than one of the NFL’s best offensive linemen? One Philadelphia radio personality thinks he can, and the Eagles’ Jason Kelce is about to make him prove it.

On Wednesday, the All-Pro center will host a series of drinking games in the bars of Sea Isle City as part of his annual fundraiser to benefit the Eagles Autism Foundation. The all-day event will be broadcast on 94 WIP Sports Radio, where James Seltzer works as a producer and host.

For years, Seltzer has been telling his audience that he can out-chug Kelce who’s made a tradition of guzzling beers at local sporting events. Kelce obviously heard the talk and during a recent interview to promote the event, challenged Seltzer to a beer-chugging contest.

Keep in mind that Kelce is a 12-year NFL veteran, an elite athlete with two Super Bowl appearances, one championship and five First-Team All-Pro nominations. Seltzer, on the other hand, is none of these things.

If he can’t out-chug Kelce, he can always try to out-drink his All-Pro brother Travis who will be making his second appearance as a celebrity bartender. Of course if that doesn’t work, Seltzer can always join the beer pong tournament and compete for a $50,000 prize in the events’ first “Beer Bowl.”

This will be the third year Kelce has hosted his fundraiser at the Jersey shore. In its first year, the event raised over $50,000. Last year, it took in more than $100,000 with a $50,000 donation from Kelce and his wife Kylie.

All proceeds from the event go directly to the Eagles’ Autism Foundation. Since its start in 2018, the foundation has raised more than $20 million to benefit families affected by autism. With numbers like that, does it really matter who wins the chugging contest? Of course it does, go get him Seltzer.
