Eagles All Pro TJ Edwards Has Bold Message for Doubters
Armond Feffer/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK

TJ Edwards and the Philadelphia Eagles were able to hold onto the NFC’s top spot despite a plethora of injuries towards the end of the season. Thankfully, the top seed allowed them a bye week to get healthy. On Saturday night, Edwards and the Eagles will take on a familiar foe in the New York Giants. The Giants, of course, defeated the Minnesota Vikings in convincing fashion last week on Wild Card Weekend. The Eagles and Giants matchup is truly going to be an exciting one. However, some NFL analysts and fans have begun to doubt whether or not the Eagles will be able to advance.

TJ Edwards Has a Message for the Doubters

Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro linebacker TJ Edwards appeared on the show “Up and Adams” this morning. He discussed many things with host Kay Adams, including who the best ping pong player on the team is. Towards the end of the interview, she asked him if he had a message for anyone who has started to doubt the Eagles.

“Yeah, I mean you know, I feel like we have been through a lot this year. Ups and downs. We’ve won close games and we’ve lost close games. I feel like we kind of finally figured out who we are. Our best football is yet to come, and that’s the most exciting part. Also knowing that we need that right now, and I’m confident we’re going to bring it.”

TJ Edwards Had an All-Pro Season

The University of Wisconsin has produced some fairly good linebackers and other defensive players. Notably, JJ Watt and TJ Watt have set records and won awards for years. However, TJ Edwards is continuing to prove that Wisconsin is not just a running back school.

In his fourth season in the NFL, Edwards had a career-high 159 total tackles and tied his career-high with 2.0 sacks. In addition, Edwards deflected seven passes, the highest total of his career. He also had 10 tackles for loss while not allowing a touchdown when in pass coverage.

Once an undrafted free agent, Edwards is now considered one of the best linebackers in the entire league. Hopefully he is able to make a difference this weekend and take the Eagles to the NFC Championship.
