Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has never missed a game in his NFL career, but he still has hurdles to clear before he can keep that steak alive in Week 16.

Lawrence entered concussion protocol following Jacksonville’s 23-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week. He cleared one significant hurdle when he returned to practice on Friday, but head coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence’s status remains a “coin flip.”

Pederson added that Lawrence’s actual odds of playing are probably “better” than 50/50, which is a good sign for Jaguars fans. Still, Lawrence will have to clear every step of the protocol to be allowed to travel with the Jaguars to Tampa Bay for their game against the Buccaneers.

Lawrence has never missed an NFL game since the Jaguars drafted him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2021. It appeared that the streak might end recently after he suffered a significant ankle injury, but Lawrence has been able to play through that.

The Jaguars fell to 8-6 with their loss to Baltimore. They are now tied with the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts atop the AFC South.
