Donnel Pumphrey sends heartbreaking tweet after being cut by Eagles

Donnel Pumphrey was heartbroken after being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.

Pumphrey, a fourth-round pick out of San Diego State last year, failed to make the defending Super Bowl champions’ roster. He shared the disappointing news on his Twitter account and then sent an even more heartbreaking tweet.

“It’s so tough looking my daughter in the eyes right now,” he tweeted, along with a sad face emoji.

Pumphrey ended up deleting his Twitter account entirely.

Pumphrey spent last season on IR and then was slowed by a hamstring injury during camp. He did not do enough to convince the Eagles to put him on the active roster. His emotions show just how rough it can be on a player when they get cut.
